Policies

By leaving your dog here with me at Comb&Collar Dog Grooming you are agreeing to the following company policies.

Matted Dogs

Humanity before vanity!

If your dog is in a matted condition it is required that the matted fur be clipped out or the coat be cut short all over, depending on the severity.

Brushing out matted fur is a painful and unnecessary process for your dog to suffer and can cause damage to the coat, therefore this will not be done.

Coat condition and grooming styles will be discussed on arrival for your appointment to ensure you are happy with the groom.

Punctuality

As all appointments are booked in to a schedule, it is important that you arrive on time for your grooming session. This will ensure that there is sufficient time to carry out the groom.

Clients arriving late by 15 minutes or more will not be able to have their groom as planned. You will either be asked to reschedule or an alternative grooming option may be suggested to you, i.e if you are late for a full groom, you may be offered a wash, brush & blow dry with certain areas trimmed.

Photographs

Whilst your dog is in my care a photograph will be taken both before and after the groom. These pictures will be used for social media and website information.

If you DO NOT wish to have your pets photograph taken or for the images to be used on social media, please ensure you tell me when dropping off.

Welfare

If your dog has recently had surgery and still has a healing wound they cannot be groomed at Comb&Collar Dog Grooming. Open wounds leave your pet susceptible to infection and so cannot be groomed until fully healed.

From time to time dogs come into the grooming salon not knowing what to expect and can find the experience a little too daunting which can lead to a change in behaviour. In the event your dog becomes too stressed and shows signs of unfavourable behaviour the groomng session may need to end. In these circumstances you will be called immediately to discuss the next step.

During all grooms your pet will have a general health check, feeling for lumps bumps and any other obvious abnormalities. Should anything unusual be noticed during the grooming session you will be notified upon collection.

Please note: I am not a veterinarian and cannot diagnose problems, I may only suggest you see your vet.

Fleas & Parasites

If your dog is found to have fleas after you have dropped them off for a groom you will be notified immediately and there will be a charge of £5 towards salon disinfection. The salon is a flea free environment and it is important that the area be treated as soon as possible after a flea incident, which may have an effect on appointments for the rest of that day.

Any ticks found on your pet during the session will be removed at no extra cost and you will be informed upon collection as you may need to treat your pet for parasites.
